There may be times when pupils need additional support to ensure that they make progress with their learning. If your child requires additional support their class teacher will create a School Support Plan, which will focus on targeted areas of learning. You as parent/carer will be informed if your child is receiving additional support and the reason why. School Support Plans will be shared with parents/carers and reviewed on a regular basis.
We use a range of intervention to support children’s learning. These interventions include one to one Speech and Language Therapy, TRUGS, Language Link, precision teaching, occupational therapy exercises, small group work and bespoke one to one individual work. Interventions are completed on a regular basis and are delivered by skilled Learning Support Assistants under the direction of the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Mrs Laura Turnnidge.
As a school we regularly liaise with external agencies such as the Speech and Language Therapy Service and Educational Psychology Service. We also draw on advice from other services as and when required and depending on the needs of the children in our school. Any recommendations made by external agencies will be acted upon and included in the School Support Plan.
