Healthy school meals are cooked on site and provided by the Hampshire Catering Company HC3S and locally sourced meat and vegetables are used. Vegetarian options are available every day and children with dietary requirements can be catered for. The dinner menu is sent home at the beginning of every term and on a a daily basis children can choose which main course they would like to have. The kitchen will cater for children with special diets if medical evidence is provided.
In September 2014, the Government introduced 'Universal Free School Meals' for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Hot meals are therefore provided to all infant school children free of charge.
Provision is also made for children who bring their own packed lunches which are eaten under supervision. We ask that no fizzy drinks, drinks in glass bottles or nuts are allowed. Children are able to bring a chocolate biscuit but we discourage chocolate bars/sweets. We would encourage parents to send a healthy packed lunch in line with our Healthy Schools status.
