South View school takes child protection issues seriously. All staff are trained in Child Protection and the school has one designated lead safeguarding officer, Mrs Pearce, and four deputy safeguarding officers. These are Mrs Pape, Mrs Penhaul, MrsTurnnidge and Miss Powell. Everybody who works at the school or who comes in to help on a voluntary basis has to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check to ensure they are safe to work with children.
All issues of a child protection nature are reported to the Children's Services Department. South View Infant School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Children at South View Infant and Nursery School use the Internet supervised on a regular basis as part of their learning. In school, we have regular 'e-safety' activities to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe online.
As a Hampshire school our internet is filtered to ensure maximum safety.
