Here at South View Infant & Nursery School we expect parents to ensure the regular and punctual attendance of their children. We believe every lesson counts.
Please make sure your child is in school for 8.45 a.m. each morning and if they are poorly please let the school know before 9.30 a.m. on the day and everyother day after that.
If you arrive after 8.55 a.m. and the classroom door is shut you must go to the school office and sign in and you will be marked as late. If you arrive at school after 9:10 a.m. this will be marked as an unauthorised absence.
Attendance is monitored closely and holidays in term time are not authorised.
We ask that you complete a Request for Authorised Absence form for all absences apart from illness.
As part of our safeguarding procedures we will contact parents, if we have not been informed of the reason for a pupil's absence. If no contact is made by parents, by 9:30 a.m. then parents will be called to confirm the pupil's absence. On the second day of a pupil's absence we will call again and if no success, we will send a text asking them to contact school and if no contact is made by 11.30 a.m. we will ring the emergency contacts listed to ascertain the whereabouts of the child.
Please see below our Attendance Policy and our Request for Authorised Absence form.
